About This Course

Workplace conflict is increasingly shaped by issues of identity, culture, inclusion, and competing rights. Employers, employees, and their advisers are navigating disputes that may involve protected attributes, religious beliefs, gender identity, cultural differences, workplace conduct expectations, and psychosocial safety obligations. These matters rarely fit neatly within a single legal framework and often require careful consideration of discrimination law, workplace obligations, safety requirements, and broader organisational culture.

This is a practical framework for understanding and managing modern workplace disputes. The session examines how workplace conflicts develop, the legal considerations that arise when competing rights intersect, and the role of mediation and early intervention in resolving disputes before they escalate. Participants will gain practical insight into supporting dispute resolution processes that respect diversity and balance organisational needs.

Key Topics Discussed:

  • Psychosocial hazards
  • Identity and culture-based disputes
  • Balancing needs in today’s multifaceted workforce, including:
    • varied beliefs and cultures
    • neurodiversity
    • gender variance
    • intergenerational perspectives
