I am a former litigator, having spent thirteen years trying cases both in federal and state courts around the country. I graduated law school in 2008, and my career includes five years in Big Law, several years at plaintiffs’ firm (including False Claims Act cases, sexual assault, civil rights, and commercial litigation cases), as well as running my own social justice law firm, representing victims of domestic violence in family law matters. I have been in the thick of it, from difficult depositions to unbearable opposing counsel to complex briefs. I’ve been there when my clients’ well-being, safety, and vindication were on the line. I am also a Legal Project Manager, a Certified eDiscovery Specialist, a CIPP/E attorney, and a space lawyer. I created the Livable Law Method because this profession has to get better, and it won't get better if we keep doing the same things over and over again. So here is what I propose: I want to change your life. If we implemented basic legal project management tools, we would be miles ahead in improving attorney wellbeing, retaining diverse attorneys, and reducing burnout. Are you ready for the great uncrushing?
